Arrival by car

A2:
Exit 13 (Kreuz Dortmund Nord-Ost), direction Derne/Schwerte (B236), 1st exit direction Dortmund-Eving, next traffic lights turn right (Kemminghauser Str.), after 2.7km turn left (Evinger Str./B 54), after 1.1km traffic lights turn left (Deutsche Straße), after 500m on the left is the Evinger Platz.

A40/B1/A44:
From the Bundesstraße 1 (extension A40 or A44) to the intersection B1/B236 direction Lünen, 3rd exit direction Dortmund-Eving.

A45:
Exit Dortmund Hafen, turn left until the intersection Münsterstraße (B54), direction Eving, after about three kilometers turn into Deutsche Straße.

Arrival by plane

From Dortmund Airport, it takes just about 20 minutes to get to Dortmund Central Station by AirportExpress and from there to the university by subway (U-Bahn) 41. The stop is "Zeche Minister Stein". A wider range of international flight connections is offered by Düsseldorf Airport, about 60 kilometers away, which can be reached directly by S-Bahn from the university station. From there, you can get directly to Dortmund Central Station.

Arrival by public transport

From Dortmund Central Station, take the U 41 light rail (direction Brambauer / Brechten). The stop is "Zeche Minister Stein". The Minister Stein Center is located on the right in the direction of travel of the streetcar.

Award giving ceremony in Bilbao

STEEL TECH 2023 has given Communication Forum Award to Antonius Schröder

Antonius Schröder (Social Research Center / TU Dortmund University) has been initiating and leading European design and sustainability-oriented industrial projects for the development of social competencies and skills in various industries for many years. One focus is the steel sector. Against this background, Antonius Schröder received his award at STEEL Tech 2023 in Bilbao and contributed to this year's focus topic "Industry 4.0" with an own presentation.

When receiving the award he first thanked the jury in a speech for the honor and highlighted the great support for his work from the European Steel Technology Platform (ESTEP), from the European Steel Federation (EUROFER) and from the industriALL Europe trade union.

In a presentation, he also introduced the Industry 5.0 concept promoted by the EU. It focuses on a people-centric, resilient and sustainable industry. Schröder's paper presented the focus on human-centricity as a way to combine technological and social innovation. It was argued that Industry 5.0 is, at its core, a value-driven, human-centered and, above all, employee-centered paradigm, largely based on current Industry 4.0 technology. The criteria for human-centered system design, human-centered approaches to skills development, qualification and organizational design were assessed as central to driving digital and green transformation through social innovation. The important role that the steel industry can play in achieving societal goals through green and sustainable forms of production was underscored. The remarks were underpinned by project results from several current projects.
