ADAPT2CARE - Climate-resilient enterprises and healthy staff

01/01/2025 - 12/31/2027

Climate change is having a significant impact on the world of work. Increased heat and UV exposure, as well as extreme weather events, can affect workers' health. In this context, the three-year ADAPT2CARE project is developing a web-based software for analysing and preventing climate-related health risks in the workplace. The aim is to support small and medium-sized enterprises in particular to adapt to climate change and to identify specific health risks.

Climate change is having a significant impact on the world of work. Increased heat and UV exposure, extreme weather events, but also psychosocial risks (such as Climate-Anxiety) can affect the health of staff. Against this background, the three-year ADAPT2CARE project is developing a web-based software to analyse and prevent climate-related health risks in the workplace. It also aims to help enterprises assess their resilience to climate change and identify areas where preventive measures are needed in their adaptation to climate change.

The software is particularly aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as external occupational safety specialists and occupational health practitioners.

A high level of usability is aimed for, which will be ensured through practical testing in several loops with pilot enterprises.

The tool is being developed on the basis of case studies of enterprises in various (particularly affected) sectors and discussion rounds with occupational safety experts. An iterative test and development phase ensures that the software is easy to use and meets specific requirements.
