SmartVille project meeting in Dortmund, sfs

Project partners of the Erasmus+ project SmartVille from Finland, Namibia and Zambia visited Dortmund for a week to discuss current and future project activities. The focus was on topics such as gender equality, the establishment of Living Labs in rural areas in Zambia and Namibia and future opportunities for cooperation.

The SmartVille project team consisting of Dr. Ann Christin Schulz, Christine Best and Kerstin Guhlemann welcomed project partners from Finland, Namibia and Zambia for a week at sfs. In the Erasmus+ Capacitiy-building project SmartVille, partners from 7 universities from these countries are working on overcoming educational inequalities in rural areas in Zambia and Namibia and strengthening entrepreneurship education at the participating universities. Current and future project activities were discussed together. The focus was also on gender and inclusion, for which experts Dr. Melanie Roski (Equal Opportunities Office of the City of Dortmund) and Elisabeth Brenker (Equal Opportunities Office of TU Dortmund University) were invited. In addition to the further development of the curricula of the Namibian and Zambian universities, the development of educational courses as part of the Living Labs and the practical establishment of the Living Labs, the focus was also on the topic of “Entrepreneurship, research and transfer”. To this end, the project partners visited the CET and the RIF on the TU Dortmund campus, for example. The project meeting ended with a walk together in the Westfalenstadion and the anticipation of the next meeting in Namibia to visit the Living Labs, reflect on all project activities and conclude the project in the form of a series of final events.
