Call for Papers: Special Issue des European Journal of Industrial Relations

As guest editors, Prof. Dr. Barbara Bechter (Durham University Business School) and Prof. Dr. Nadja Dörflinger (Social Research Centre – sfs) are pleased to invite submissions for an upcoming special issue of the European Journal of Industrial Relations with the call theme "Health and Safety Regimes in an Era of Multiple Transformations: The Contribution of Comparative Employment Relations". The guest editors look forward to receiving your proposals. Below are the key details of the call:

The world of work is undergoing significant transformation. Digitalization, climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic, demographic shifts, and geopolitical conflicts are changing working conditions, forms of employment, and labor regulation. At the same time, new risks are emerging for the physical and mental health as well as the safety of workers.

This Special Issue of the European Journal of Industrial Relations takes these developments as an occasion to bring occupational health and safety back to the forefront of comparative employment relations research. The focus is on how different transformation processes alter workplace risks—and how institutions, trade unions, worker representatives, employers, and other actors respond to these changes.

Comparative contributions are particularly welcome, such as international, sectoral, or occupational comparisons. Conceptual, empirical, and policy-oriented papers using various research designs and methodological approaches are welcomed as well. Examples of relevant thematic areas can be found in the full call
