On February 15/16, we kicked off our Horizon Europe project IS2H4C on the campus of the University of Twente (in Enschede/NL). 60 participants from over 30 project partners concretised the work programme for the next 4 years.

On 15/16 February 2024, the project partners met on the campus of the University of Twente in Enschede (NL) for the kick-off meeting of the ambitious IS2H4C project. This project aims to develop European industrial areas and their surrounding regions into circular economy hubs that are sustainable, resilient, and circular. The solutions will be demonstrated in 4 hubs:

1) in the Höchst Industrial Park (Frankfurt/D),

2) in Turkish refineries (in the Izmir-Manisa region),

3) in the Dutch Hub2Hydrogen Twente, and

4) in the Spanish Basque Country.

The Social Research Centre at TU Dortmund University is leading a work package entitled "Societal Engagement and Governance". This work not only deals with technical aspects of the circular economy, but also establishes working structures in which regional stakeholders are involved, formulate their requirements and also address the social and economic implications of Hubs4Circularities. The main aim in this working package is to achieve solutions that include technical and social innovations for the circular economy in industrial areas.
