Mobility in the Simulator

How can the Ruhr region make progress toward the sustainable transformation of mobility and transportation? Marlon Philipp addressed this question in his dissertation, which he successfully defended on July 22, 2026. The theoretical and conceptual foundation is a sociological model of sustainable transformation (SNMT) that he developed. He uses this model for an agent-based simulation that maps traffic patterns in the Ruhr region and enables experiments with different scenarios. The results clearly show that bicycles play a much greater role and could drive the transformation of mobility in the Ruhr region.
