This year's 25th HCI International Conference was held in Copenhagen, Denmark from July 23-28, 2023. Exciting topics were presented and dealing with digital participation issues was one of them. A specially organized session by the TIP cluster of TU Dortmund University by Dr. Susanne Dirks (TU Dortmund University) and Prof. Dr. Ingo Bosse (HfH Zurich) brought together researchers who were working on this topic in current projects. The projects IncluScience and EVE4all were part of this session.

The 25th International HCI Conference took place in Copenhagen. In the first part of the session "Technology for Inclusion and Participation (TIP) & ICT for Inclusion (ICT4I)", moderated by Prof. Dr. Ingo Bosse and Dr. Susanne Dirks, two projects were presented, which are currently being researched at the Social Research Center.

Ann Christin Schulz presented to the 30 participants how citizen science can be designed inclusively. She referred to the methodological approach of the citizen science project "IncluScience - Disability Mainstreaming in Science and Practice", in which citizens with disabilities and their representatives were involved in the research process in a very concrete way. This was concretized by an example in which the online map Wheelmap with its information on accessibility as well as its addition of new location types and corresponding accessibility criteria (verticals) were presented. In a subsequent discussion, approaches for the inclusion of citizens in the research process could be elicited and participation strategies, especially for citizens with cognitive impairments and learning difficulties, could be elaborated.

Dr. Susanne Dirks presented current research results from the project EVE4all - Simple Understanding for All. Here, the focus was on results on usage potentials and current challenges in dealing with the Easy Reading Framework. Easy Reading is a digital toolbox that supports users with disabilities individually in reading and understanding web pages.
