The sfs and TUDO were well represented at the 5th ISA Forum of Sociology in Morocco

Participants of the panel 'A Transformative Perspective on Social Innovation in Higher Education' in Rabat
Karina Maldonado-Mariscal and Christoph Kaletka (sfs, TU Dortmund University) participated in this year's 5th ISA Forum of Sociology.

This year, the ISA Forum of Sociology took place in Rabat, Morocco from 6-11 of July. This international sociology conference attracted 4,842 participants from 112 different countries.

Dr. Karina Maldonado-Mariscal organised a panel titled 'A Transformative Perspective on Social Innovation in Higher Education', alongside Juha Tuunainen from Oulu University in Finland. The lively, international panel featured case studies from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Kazakhstan and beyond. Karina Maldonado-Mariscal and PD Dr. Christoph Kaletka presented research at this panel. Additionally, Karina Maldonado-Mariscal and Christoph Kaletka also gave presentations at the “Social Innovation in the Global North and South” panel (https://isaconf.confex.com/isaconf/forum2025/meetingapp.cgi/Session/21717), organised by Rafael Dias (University of Campinas, Brazil) and Chunrong Liu (Fudan University, China). There was a lively discussion in which the participants exchanged theoretical, empirical and political perspectives on social innovation.
