With Aaron Zilt, Kirill Kronhardt and Omed Abed, the KonCheck research project of TU Dortmund University was represented at the City of Dortmund's Market of Opportunities. Under the title "Fact or trap? Protection against disinformation", several workshops and the Market of Opportunities for 9th-13th school classes in Dortmund (students + teachers) as well as for trainees of the City of Dortmund took place last Wednesday in Dortmund City Hall.

In keeping with the theme of the event, the teenagers and young adults were able to try out the FallacyCheck at the KonCheck research project stand. This involves screening news articles in real time and using LLM to identify logical fallacies in the text to encourage users to engage in critical debate. In addition, a small survey study was conducted to obtain feedback on the tool from users. The students and trainees stated that they were not yet familiar with the concept of logical fallacies and that using the tool had a learning effect for them in this respect.
