Toolbox presented at PartWiss 24
Citizen science should be made more inclusive. For this reason, the toolbox was developed as part of the ‘IncluScience’ project with Sozialheld*innen e.V. and TU scientists from the Social Research Center Dortmund and the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and designed in close cooperation with people with disabilities. Citizen science refers to projects in which citizens are actively involved in research - regardless of socio-demographic or other characteristics. The toolbox is therefore aimed in particular at people working in citizen science projects. It is intended to support them in making their work more inclusive throughout the entire process, from planning to implementation, and to involve people with disabilities as experts in the design and implementation of citizen science.
Dr Ann Christin Schulz presented the toolbox at PartWiss 24 to raise awareness of it in the scientific community. She presented the main contents of the toolbox, which range from basic knowledge to hands-on recommendations for practical implementation. The presentation also ended with three specific demands for inclusive science.
