Start of the BMBF project "EVE4all - Simple Understanding for All
Das vom BMBF geförderte Projekt „EVE4all – Einfach Verstehen für alle“ aus der Fördermaßnahme „Validierung des technologischen und gesellschaftlichen Innovationspotentials
The BMBF-funded project "EVE4all - Easy Understanding for All" from the funding measure "Validation of the Technological and Societal Innovation Potential of Scientific Research - VIP+" started on 01.08.22.
The aim of the project is the testing of a web-based tool (Easy Reading System) for the simplified display of web pages for people who depend on accessibility. The Easy Reading System was developed in the EU project "Easy Reading - Keeping the user at the digital original" with the aim of enabling people with cognitive impairments to independently use existing, non-accessible websites. In contrast to conventional solutions, where either the operators of the websites have to take care of the provision of easily understandable content, the Easy Reading System enables a paradigm shift by allowing an individualized and needs-based adaptation of any web page on the original site with the help of the tool. For example, the Easy Reading System allows the use of a magnifying glass to enlarge fonts, adjust contrasts, or even translate difficult web content into symbolic language. Thus, the Easy Reading System basically allows many different applications. In the follow-up project "Eve4All", the focus over the next two years will be on expanding the range of applications and user groups, as well as validating the system and establishing the framework on the market in the long term. The goal is to be able to use the Easy Reading Framework in the sense of a non-monetary social innovation in educational and residential facilities of various social service providers throughout Germany.
