Habilitation Dr. Rick Hölsgens

December 10th, 2025, Dr. Rick Hölsgens successfully completed his habilitation process with his presentation on „Power and social innovation - niche-regime interactions and practice change.“

With his presentation on „Power and social innovation - niche-regime interactions and practice change,“ Dr. Rick Hölsgens successfully completed his habilitation process on December 10th, 2025. He received a venia legendi with the title “Social Scientific Transformation Research.” In his cumulative written work, titled „Critical perspectives on social innovation and thr diffusion of sustainable social practices,“ Dr. Hölsgens analyses the challenges of diffusion of social innovations. In the presentation, concretely the themes of power, unequal distribution of resources and the (dis)empowering potentials of social innovations were highlighted. Autumn 2026, the habilitation certificate will be officially received in the context of a colloquium at the Department of Social Sciences.
