Based on the premise that universities and scientific institutions have important functions in the social innovation ecosystem, TU Dortmund University is currently building an open science network as part of the platform, thus addressing representatives from universities and scientific institutes from all three missions that already play an active role in the SI ecosystem or intend to contribute more strongly to anchoring social innovation in their field of activity.

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), is currently funding the establishment of a networking platform as a central measure of the Strategy for Social Innovations and Social Enterprises. The project is being implemented by Social Impact gGmbH, the Social Entrepreneurship Netzwerk Deutschland e.V. and TU Dortmund University (Social Research Centre) as a scientific partner.

After a project period of just a year, the growing science network is still in the constitution phase, will reach its first milestone: the conference. It brings together interested researchers, teachers and members of transfer centres as well as other members of scientific institutions and creates an opportunity for an intensive and cross-mission exchange of experiences.

Interested persons are cordially invited to get to know the ambition and work of the Science Network and its stakeholders in a multifaceted interactive setting and to engage in dialogue with international experts.

With the exception of one keynote the conference language is German. You can find out more about the background, the conference programme and registration formalities here.
