SmartVille project team visits LAB University in Lappeenranta
The SmartVille project team consisting of Ann Christin Schulz, Kerstin Guhlemann and Christine Best gained a variety of insights into the LAB and LUT University in Lappeenranta during the first face-to-face project meeting, which was rounded off with visits to the Jamie Hyneman Centre, the Business Mill, LUTES and the local company Afstor. In addition to these insights, all project partners got to know each other personally, exchanged ideas and, above all, worked on innovative teaching and learning methods to promote practical entrepreneurial skills in formal and informal education at the partner universities and in rural areas in Namibia and Zambia. To this end, the sfs team got to know the "Team Learning" method and at the same time presented the "Entrepreneurial Mindset Training" developed in the Erasmus+ project ARTE in a workshop format with Finnish students.
The work in the project will now continue with an analysis of the status quo of the target groups in Namibia and Zambia. In addition, the sfs team will be travelling to Zambia for another project meeting in August 2024 to visit the "Smart Living Labs", which are being developed as places of formal and informal educational opportunities in rural areas in Zambia and Namibia and are intended to strengthen the employability of disadvantaged groups.
