On 2 December 2024, the first BNE Hackathon: School meets Science took place in Dortmund. Pupils, teachers and scientists worked together in interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative teaching and learning units on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On 2 December 2024, Klimabildung e.V. organised the BNE Hackathon: School meets Science. The event took place in Dortmund. Students, teachers and scientists worked together in interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative teaching and learning units on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Karina was invited as an to discuss and co-create with the students how to create innovative teaching and learning methods to integrate the SDGs into schools. Over 80 participants came together to develop creative teaching units. The result was 11 innovative ideas, some of which will now be further developed for the Public Climate School in November 2025. The event lasted a whole day, and was a great opportunity to build bridges between schools and scientists.
