Using Real-Lab Experiments to assess possible local mobility transitions in the Ruhr Area

The success of measures aimed at facilitating sustainable sociotechnical transitions is highly dependent on contextual fit. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate measures not only from a theoretical but also from a practical perspective.
The presentation at the 21st STS Conference at TU Graz "Critical Issues in Science, Technology and Society Studies" focused on a series of three real-world experiments that took place from September to December 2022 as part of the InnaMoRuhr project.
The presentation gave a detailed insight into the concept for the scientific evaluation of these experiments and provided the results of the evaluations. With these results, it can be shown how real-lab experiments can be used as an important tool to identify potentially successful measures before their continuous implementation.
