Final Conference of the ESSA project held

On 11th May 2023, the European Steel Skills Alliance (ESSA) final conference has been hosted at the thyssenkrupp Steel Europe Education Centre (Duisburg) and via ZOOM. The motto was “Steel as forerunner for the Triple Challenge - a green, digital and social transition. Shaping the future of the European Steel Industry”. Since its start in the beginning of 2019 the ESSA project is led by Antonius Schröder (Social Research Centre).

The event was attended by more than 30 speakers including European Commission representatives and some of the most important steel industries and key stakeholders. A total of over 100 interested participants from all Member States have registered for the event.

ESSA is an EU Erasmus+ Program funded project in Cooperation with the European Steel Technology Platform (ESTEP) and the Final Conference has been included under the umbrella of the European Year of Skills. With other 40 full and associated partners, ESSA addresses future skills needs in the light of the green, digital and social transformation in the European steel industry.
