Are we putting too much money into new highways?

On March 30, the WDR5 City Talk "Between Climate Crisis and Renovation Backlog - Roads in NRW" will take place from 7:30pm at Wilhelmshöhe in Menden.

As a guest, Prof. Weyer will take part in the WDR5 Stadtgespräch on Thursday, March 30, 2023, which will deal with the content of the gap closure of the Autobahn 46 between Hemer and Arnsberg. Due to increased resistance from the region, it is now about the slimmed-down variant A46sieben: Freeway from Hemer to Menden and from there as a three-lane federal highway to Arnsberg. However, the city of Arnsberg now also rejects this construction project with the justification that it is not compatible with the climate targets.

In this context, Prof. Weyer will talk about travel time calculations, alternative for the future and more flexible and networked mobility as well as on-demand options.
