Arrival by car

A2:
Exit 13 (Kreuz Dortmund Nord-Ost), direction Derne/Schwerte (B236), 1st exit direction Dortmund-Eving, next traffic lights turn right (Kemminghauser Str.), after 2.7km turn left (Evinger Str./B 54), after 1.1km traffic lights turn left (Deutsche Straße), after 500m on the left is the Evinger Platz.

A40/B1/A44:
From the Bundesstraße 1 (extension A40 or A44) to the intersection B1/B236 direction Lünen, 3rd exit direction Dortmund-Eving.

A45:
Exit Dortmund Hafen, turn left until the intersection Münsterstraße (B54), direction Eving, after about three kilometers turn into Deutsche Straße.

Arrival by plane

From Dortmund Airport, it takes just about 20 minutes to get to Dortmund Central Station by AirportExpress and from there to the university by subway (U-Bahn) 41. The stop is "Zeche Minister Stein". A wider range of international flight connections is offered by Düsseldorf Airport, about 60 kilometers away, which can be reached directly by S-Bahn from the university station. From there, you can get directly to Dortmund Central Station.

Arrival by public transport

From Dortmund Central Station, take the U 41 light rail (direction Brambauer / Brechten). The stop is "Zeche Minister Stein". The Minister Stein Center is located on the right in the direction of travel of the streetcar.

Dortmund in the semi-finals for European Innovation Capital

This year, Dortmund entered the race for the iCapital Award with the title "INNOVATION NEXT DOOR - Future from the Neighborhood" and presents the city's innovation model with its wide range of social, sustainable and technology-oriented projects and strategic approaches. Among them are two projects of the Social Research Center. One is iResilience: Social Innovations and Smart City Infrastructures for the Resilient City of the Future (iRes, funded through the BMBF Future City program) and T-Factor: Participatory Futures - Co-creating cities with temporary urbanism (funded through an EU Horizon2020 Innovation Action).

The iResilience project aims to develop and test climate precautionary measures and new practices as well as technologies for the continuous improvement of urban climate resilience in two Dortmund neighborhoods. Together with local stakeholders, solutions are being developed to better meet the challenges of climate change. Focus topics are heat and health, heavy rain prevention and urban green. In a participatory process, the project brings together citizens, local companies, employees, city administrators, politicians and initiatives in various events and new innovative formats.

The T-Factor project unites 25 European partner organizations, 6 of which are pilot cities, which will jointly investigate and test the opportunities and challenges of interim uses as part of urban development over a period of four years. The consortium's goal is thus to make the interim period in larger urban development projects accessible to many creative uses, especially with reference to the regeneration of historic urban city areas.
