On 10 and 11 June 2026, a meeting of the Erasmus+ project Skills4EII took place at the Dortmund Social Research Center. The project (running from 2025 to 2028) brings together 33 partner organisations from 10 European countries and is coordinated by the Social Research Center.

A total of 43 people took part in the two-day, hybrid  event. It focused on setting the course for the project’s future development after approximately one and a half years of operation.

The aim of Skills4EII (Skills Alliance for the Green, Digital and Social Transformation of the Energy-intensive Industries) is to identify the skills and competence needs in Europe’s energy-intensive industries and, building on this, to develop, test and roll out suitable measures – in particular training and further education programmes

Topics discussed included the further development of the HUB5.0 training platform, the design and implementation of specific training programmes in different sectors (Steel, Minerals, Water, Engineering, Logistics, Non-Ferrous Metals, Ceramics, Raw Materials, Chemicals, Cement, Pulp & Paper, Refinery), and the latest analysis results from the project’s work to date.

The event thus provided an important opportunity to jointly reflect on the project’s progress to date, exchange experiences and define the next steps for the upcoming project phases.
